Wine Charms

OK, so I got my hands on some sweet little glass lampwork beads of varying designs and I have started making wine charms out of them. My first set is to be called "Junk Food: Who doesn't love it?" I have a bunch of other ridiculously cute beads for this wine charm project, including barnyard animals with wings, assorted chapeauxs, picnic themed beads, etc. I'll most likely set up a seperate section in my etsy shop for whimsical/silly stuff.

Also, do babies just fall out of Michelle Duggar now? I can't even imagine...

Hachi Machi! I made 2 sales!

I sold two of my treasures already and I have four people who "heart" me! I hope this momentum keeps up. I'm trying to add a few new pieces to my shop every day to keep people checking back often.

Today was super productive and I got some supplies for a slightly more whimsical line of treats that I'll be creating soon. Let's just say if you like snacks and junk food (mostly hot dogs!), you'll be 100% into what's coming next...

Spectral Deeeelight

I just added one of my favorite pairs of handmade earrings to Tiny Galaxy. They come in a variety of different prong settings and ear wires, but my favorites are the antique bronze settings with matching ear wire. I get scrillions of complements on them every time I wear them. They change color with every step I take. They're for real!

Hey, look at that! I have ONE person who hearts my shop already! What a start!

I've been trying to figure out what method to use for packaging my treasures when they sell. I have some plain white boxes, but those are boring. I also could wrap them gently in tissue paper and send them in a bubble mailer, but I feel like people prefer to open boxes. Any of the nice etsy shops I have made purchases from showcase their fabulous little customize boxes. I should figure out my logo with my graphic designer sister. She's the best and did all the designs for my recent wedding. Everyone commented on how classy the menus, place cards, programs, etc looked. Check her out: http://annareinhard.carbonmade.com/ I think I might have her make my banner, because right now, it's pretty lacking in razzmatazz...

First Post

Well, here goes. After a relatively unsuccessful first Etsy shop (RazzleDazzleBeads...I only had about 10 sales in 6 months), I decided to step it up a few notches. Sticking to the "first is the worst, second is the best" mantra, I have decided that my new Etsy shop "Tiny Galaxy" will be...THE BEST. In that case, if I am ever to start a third shop, it will inevitable have "the hairiest chest" or "the teacher's breasts" or whatever we used to say in 3rd grade.

Here are some things that I KNOW to be 100% certain:

I am not crazy about my current job

I love my family

That being said, in a perfect world I could quit my job and spend exorbitantly more time with my family. In real life, that will not happen. What I can do is parlay my crafty ways into a decent supplemental income so that I can quit slaving for "The Man" and get a less stressful, OK-paying job, which will leave me more time to craft and hang with my family.

On a sweet note, my little dog, Louie, is making a rapid recovery from his tummy bug. He's back to his naughty little self, and was recently caught sneaking the macaroni and cheese powder packet from the trash can and eating the gross cheese dust. Oh, I love him!
